The Move To 2012!

What’s up fans and all my readers…

Well, it’s about that time, 2012 is finally coming to a complete close and must end the year out strong. You’re probably wondering  what are my plans for the new year, I got a little something planned but got the faith to accomplish them.

For one, keep  feeding you new music. I’m dropping a new mixtape/album for the new year called “Red Dream” on January 4th…but not only that but I have another mixtape after i’m working with my bro Bossie Breed called “Street Fever Part2″, which supposed to drop in mid-Feb 2012, and another Red Dream mixtape in late spring or the summer. In case you didn’t know, I earned the alias The King Of Underground Swag Music. I plan to drop 4 mixtapes in 2012, which I already gave you names of the first 3 mixtapes.

So basically, i’m gonna keep giving you music without falling off. I’m the realest and talented underground rapper in my city that’s on a mission. Not being cocky, just stating facts, so all i can say is you will get a lot of great music from me thru the whole year of 2012. Oh yeah, i’m also putting out a compilation mixtape called “Kaptain Kutta On The Beat Vol.1″ that features tracks from artists I produced songs for and a free bonus beat. Be looking out for that in 2012 as well.

That’s all I got to say for now but in the meantime, lookout for my new mixtape “Red Dream” dropping Wednesday, Jaunary 1, 2012 at midnight!

NEW SONG: “Hard On Haters”

New Mixtape “Red Dream” Artwork + Info!

What’s up yall,

Just wanted to let yall that I haven’t stop making music and i’m still on my grind. Now I think it’s the right time to announce my NEW mixtape. I’m on my 4th mixtape and despite all the songs I made under my former names, I’ve gotten more better as an artist. Lately, I been getting a lot of down time, which got me going with the music in the first place. Most just drop 1 or 2 mixtapes a year and fall off afterward but now, I can say that as an underground artist, i’m grind to put out the most music, to me, the more music you put out, the more following you get and ways of people finding you. But first…Let you give you some info about the new mixtape. This is not just a mixtape but it’s a album as well, imma call it a mix-album because for one, it’s no DJ on it and 2nd, it has the sound of album quality. I think this tape will give me credit for my hardwork. I recorded 10 songs so far and I have a few more to go. The stuff i’m writing for the mixtape is really paying for me and I got to say that it’s pretty good. You gonna surprised by the song selection was made into the mixtape. I wrote a lot of great material. I promised this will be an ultimate and motivational classic EP I have ever made.  This is a rare Kaptain Kutta classic in the making and it will certainly stand out on it’s on by my hard work of course.

The production, lyrical content, substance and flow is the most outstanding thing of this mixtape. Everything about just click. I’m not just talking junk, I’m seriously telling you the truth. Putting together this mixtape was no walk in the park, I try hard to make it perfect because this is what I love to do. I got guest appearances by Meachy, my little sister Shuntae and my two artists I manage from my label 848 Swagg Unit, which is my cousin Yung KK and my friend Bossie Breed. I also got production by JW Beatz, Serious, Hannabal, E-Brooks, Soopa Beats, c0-production by Chris Wayne and I made a couple beats on the mixtape.

That’s all I can tell you about the mixtape but in the meantime, here is the official mixtape artwork of my new mixtape Red Dream below, release date will be announced sometime this week.

Loud [Official Video]

This is the video for the song “Loud” (short version), regular version (featuring Yung KK & Meachy) is available on Kaptain Kutta’s “GameTight” mixtape.

Free Download – Click HERE to download the “GameTight” mixtape!

ABOUT THE SONG:

I made the beat during the summer because i was bored one day, and preparing for a new project at the time.  While I was making the beat, I came up with the hook and after freestyling a chorus for the beat (I always freestyle to the beats I make when it’s finished), I felt that I should make it a song. Also to say that this is one of my favorite songs off the “GameTight” mixtape.

So later that day, I wrote the song and it’s funny because I was writing a lot of punchlines and metaphors on the paper, usually I don’t do that in every line but it fits my mood and flow for the song. I think this is the only song I wrote the most punchlines and metaphors ever. I’m a statement and lyrical substance kinda guy but hey, that’s what everyone wants to hear.

The next after I recorded the song, I asked my cousin (who is also my artist) Yung KK to jump on it, and he agreed. His lyrics was not the best because he basically freestyle his verse, he’s much better when he writes, when he puts his mind into it. Then a week later, I was on facebook and one of my fans (who is also a rapper) named Meachy liked my songs, so he asked me could he get on a song with me, so I sent him the song, he did his thang on it and the song was done.

I also made a short version with my features just in case I was ready to shoot a video.

ABOUT THE VIDEO:

I shot the video within an hour and the editing within an hour, so it wasn’t hard. Just wanted to do something simple for the video. Not nothing too fancy, just a quick edit.

And concludes the insight of the music video and song. Please support and download my music because I work so hard on it. Lookout for my new album dropping on the beginning of the new year.

Studio Session: Kaptain Kutta & Bossie Breed

Hey, what’s up yall. This past weekend, I just reunited with my lil bro Bossie Breed. I didn’t expect him from to come back anytime soon from Chicago because i thought he was living there but i’m happy he’s back and what’s so great about it, he is here to stay. A week ago, I released a mixtape EP called “Street Fever” with me and Bossie as a duo. Basically, the EP has all the songs we done this year (click HERE to download). New Mixtape: Kaptain Kutta & Bossie Breed – “Street Fever” (FREE DOWNLOAD!)

The new duo compilation album from Kaptain Kutta & Bossie Breed!

FREE DOWNLOAD: Click HERE to download!

ABOUT THE “STREET FEVER” MIXTAPE EP!

I put this mixtape together because I wanted to put together a collection of songs that me and Bossie Breed did together before he moved back to Chicago back in middle October, I also put this mixtape together to give to my fans so it would hold them over until my brand NEW mixtape EP i’m working on called “RED DREAM” drops. This is sort of like a “BEST OF” mixtape.

Basically, this mixtape was suppose to an album with brand new songs but I didn’t know Bossie Breed was gonna move back to his hometown so soon, so after I found out he moved back to the Chi, I figured he wasn’t coming back to Georgia no time soon so I just grabbed the songs we collabed on and made a mixtape. Most of these songs are from my “KuttaStyle” mixtape and also all of the songs from Bossie’s “Rocktown Kush Land” mixtape but there are also 4 NEW songs on this tape which is tracks 11, 16, 17 & 19… and also a couple songs from my artist/cousin Yung KK’s “From Ragz 2 Richez” mixtape which also made Bossie Breed’s mixtape.

After Bossie Breed left the state, Bossie told my cousin Yung KK he was possibly coming back to GA sometime in early 2012. Bossie is my artist from 848 Swagg Unit who I signed back in March. There will possibly more new music from Bossie Breed in the future but until then, bump this mixtape and lookout for my new mixtape “RED DREAM” dropping soon!

*Update* Bossie Breed is back in Atlanta and is now staying. He also agreed for us to do another mixtape together, so therefore, there will a “Street Fever Part 2″ mixtape in early 2012. We are already in the process of working on it as we speak. More info coming soon!

Believe In The Lord [Official Video]

This is the official video for Kaptain Kutta’s “Believe In The Lord” song!

ABOUT THE SONG:

As I was working on my first tape”The Year Of Kaptain Kutta”, I was searching for beats online for the tape, I saw a beat mixtape on datpiff.com by producer A 2da K and preview some of the beats and downloaded it. I wanted a short beat with only verse where I talk about believing in the lord, yet i found one.

So I wrote to the beat and got it written within 15 minutes and went to recording an hour later. Got finishing recording the song in 30 minutes, not bad. I wanted to make the song positive and have some meaning to the soft style beat. People might say that it’s just a song but I don’t record song just because i want to, I make songs like this because not too many rappers make these kind of songs, and believe it or not, this song came from the heart. Yeah I know the song is short but hey, I made my statement in 8 bars.

ABOUT THE VIDEO:

Once again, another simple video I put together and tried to make it as simple as I can. The cat in the video is my sister’s cat. I just felt putting him in the video and I also recording my scene mouthing the words to the song in my studio/den.

It took me about 45 minutes to edit the whole video but I didn’t put on YouTube till the next day… And that’s it!!

I’m on the grind making videos again. I got at least 8 video more dropping, whenever that is. I had to make this post a little short and fast because my internet getting cut off in a few hours. I just made a switch to a new cable and internet company, due to the ridiculous bill went up, smh. Trying to get something cheap. I don’t know how long it’s going to be off but in the meantime, check out my music on this site and follow me on Twitter: www.Twitter.com/KaptainKutta for my update, i’ll be tweeting from my phone.

This is the video for Kaptain Kutta’s “If I Die Today” song, available on “The Year Of Kaptain Kutta” mixtape! FREE DOWNLOAD Available now!

Click HERE to download “The Year Of Kaptain Kutta” mixtape EP!

ABOUT THE SONG:

A month before I release my debut mix-EP, I was online searching for some beats because basically, I didn’t want to use all of my beats for this project. I wanted to be a little selective with songs I do.

So since I was so inspired, I decided to write a song about me dying on the last day i live and telling why I love the support of God. So far…I haven’t seen or heard any regular underground/unsigned rapper who does music about God, so if no one gonna do it, then I will. People might think i’m crazy for doing a song like this but every rapper can’t just talk about the same things, actually, I think at least some rapper should do a song about God every once in a while to show their appreciation and love for God!

I think this song should get me some love and respect because it’s from the heart and it’s deeper than just a song.

ABOUT THE VIDEO:

Well, this is my first video back since the “On My Mind” video in September. I took a break from the videos to focus on my 2 artists but now, I will have a lot of time to do videos because one of my artists moved back to his hometown Chicago and my other artist, which who is my cousin moved away from my area but he will be showing up at my studio every once in a while when he’s back in the hood.

Anyway, I shot all 3 scenes shots of me in my studio/den. I didn’t feel like going outside because it was kinda cold and also one of my leg on my tripod is broken so I couldn’t stand it up anywhere. I had to sit it against the chair with the two legs to make it stand up straight. I did one scene without my shades, which i shouldn’t did and a scene with my shades on. I also shot my scene on my MAC built in camera and after that, it was on to the editing.

I finished 80% of the video and then finished the final touches the next day…and that’s about it.

Be sure to share this video with your friends and tell them to get all 3 of my mixtapes “The Year Of Kaptain Kutta“, “KuttaStyle” and my newest mixtape “GameTight“, they are all FREE DOWNLOADS and they do not disappoint. More videos coming soon!

I’m Still Here!

What’s up yall…

I know, it’s been a while. I haven’t been on here to tell yall what’s going on with me lately. I haven’t been doing too much music stuff since I dropped my mixtape “The Year Of Kaptain Kutta” but basically, I got a little lazy and I hit writer’s block as of late.

I haven’t had much to do accept get back being employed into the public again. Otherwise, I just been doing other stuff. The only I been doing musically is making beats on Fruity Loops. I installed some amazing beat kits and new sounds in my system, I just have a thing for switching my sound from time to time. I made a collection of classic hip hop beats, pretty soon, hopefully, they will be on somebody’s project.

I been getting some of you guys tweets and emails on my social networking sites and I wanna say thank you for your support, yall been asking when i’m dropping some new music, well, I just dropped my new track called “M13 Side” on Twitter 2 days ago, I actually made that track about 6 months back and it was just sitting in my portable hard drive. Click HERE to listen & download.

I know your question probably is: When are you gonna hear some new tracks from me? The answer is: I really don’t know as of yet but one thing for sure that as soon as I get back into full music-mode, I will release my long-awaited delayed mixtape “KuttaStyle” in a month or two. I also got another official mix-album (combination of a mixtape & album) in the work but will be released in the beginning of 2012.

So that’s all I got for now. In the meantime, my label just launched a website www.848SwaggUnit.blogspot.com The site features the 848 Swagg Unit artists, which is my cousin Yung KK, my little sister Shuntae, the homie from Chicago Bossie Breed and myself of course. They always update new stuff from us weekly.

That’s all I got to say for now. Don’t worry, I will be back soon, just give me a couple of weeks or two.

BTW: This is the first album review anywhere!

Kaptain Kutta – “On My Mind” music video!

This is the video for the song “On My Mind” (Prod. by The Olympicks)

Available on Kaptain Kutta’s “The Year of Kaptain Kutta” mixtape EP, FREE DOWNLOAD – click HERE to download!

ABOUT THE SONG:

A couple of weeks ago before I changed my name, I was in my room watching TV and a hook popped up on the top of my head.

Later that day, I was gonna lay down the hook and write the verses later, but I didn’t have a beat.

I was gonna do a song off one of my beats but all of a sudden, i didn’t want to make a beat at the moment, so i searched on the net for some beats, sadly, i didn’t find nothing my style. I looked at several places like datpiff, most of the beats that were on the instrumental mixtapes on that site were wack, they sound too much like fruity loops and the quality was bad and diabolical . I was gonna go to soundclick but I didn’t want no beats from there.

One day, I was on Livemixtapes.com, which one of popular mixtape sites next to datpiff. I saw a mixtape that dropped, it was a instrumental mixtape by The Olympicks called “The beats that didn’t make Teflon Don”, which is beats that didn’t make Rick Ross’s latest album. I took a listen and the beats were good but I grabbed one beat off the mixtape.

A few days later, I went to work on the song called “On My Mind” to express things in a way I think. I would explain more but hopefully, you will get the point.

ABOUT THE VIDEO:

It’s not much to say about the video, I tried to keep it sample as I can, I didn’t want to waste too much time editing it, so I just put in some effects and boom, there it is. I shot one clip of the video because basically, I was lazy. It took about almost an hour to finish but it’s not bad at all and that’s all.

I hope you all enjoy the video, despite me being under a new name. I got more 6 more videos i’m making for songs off “The Year Of Kaptain Kutta” mixtape on the way. They won’t look too fancy but hey, they will work. Don’t forget to download your free copy of “The Year Of Kaptain Kutta” mixtape, FREE DOWNLOAD – Click HERE to download!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present you…

“The Year Of Kaptain Kutta” mixtape, FREE DOWNLOAD – click HERE to download!

ABOUT “THE YEAR OF KAPTAIN KUTTA” MIXTAPE:

Well, despite me changing my name to Kaptain Kutta, I decided to start all over on my music career. I have a new name, new attitude and new music, the reason why i changed my name in the first place is to keep doing music, and to be honest, i’m glad i changed my name, maybe it will be more catchy to someone when they hear my music. I was gonna wait till my birthday to change it but I figured 2 weeks ago is the time to do it. I changed my name 3 times now but I promise this is my final name change and it will not be changed anymore.

Anyway….

This mixtape was supposed to be under the title “KuttaStyle” but due to me changing my name, I gave another title. The former named mixtape had about 24 tracks but I decided to take about 9 of them off because I kept boasting my old name in them songs and left 14 new songs on the tape. My single “Bombay” is going crazy right now. There ain’t too much to explain about this mixtape but it does not disappoint. It got songs like for the parties, club, life and songs dedicated to God. All of these songs is straight from the heart and no fake stuff on there. If you sleep on this mixtape, then you continue to listen to the fake stuff for the rest of your life. This is a real mixtape with lyrical content and songs that make statements. Understand my passion people.

K.K.O.F. – Box Kutta (feat. Jorge Fuenez) video!

This is the music video is for the song “Box Kutta” (feat. Jorge Fuenez)

Song available on K.K.O.F.’s “The Redprint 3″ mixtape

FREE DOWNLOAD – Click HERE to download mixtape

ABOUT THE SONG:

Well, this all started when I was working on my artist Jorge Fuenez mixtape “The Contraband Man”, but even before that, I was bored one night, so I decided to make a beat, I wasn’t aware for what I was gonna use it for yet but I wanted to do a hype style beat, so I made one and it was hype to def.

I think it was about a week after I made the beat, I check my email and I got the verse vocals from Jorge Fuenez to mix with a song called “Humility” from his latest mixtape “The Contraband Man”, which is a classic mixtape by the way.

Than a couple weeks later as I was in the studio recording songs, I happen to go through my files in my hard drive and found the same beat I made a couple weeks back, so I was in recording mode, I wrote about 60% of the verses but didn’t have no hook yet, after I wrote the verses, I went ahead and recorded the verse I wrote and then after I recorded, I decided to go in my files and find a sample where I can place a chorus on the song. I listened to Jorge’s verse from Humility , I listened until I got to the last line of his verse, in his that line he said “I look sharp, I rock shutters, you can fight me, or you can box kutta”, I thought that was the tightest line I ever heard. BTW, Kutta is the 2nd “K” in my name K.K.O.F. (King Kutta On Fire), so I used as a hook because it kinda sounded like it could be a chorus for song. I named the song “Box Kutta”, yeah I know it’s crazy. Jorge had no idea I sampled his verse and made it in a hook but he liked it. I think he likes it when I sample his verses. Thanks Fueezy!!

Well, we was supposed to do the video back in the beginning of the year but Jorge had school at the time and didn’t have time so I had to leave it alone for a while but I almost forgot about doing the video but i’m glad he reminded because I wanted to do the video so bad and I really like this song.

Since Jorge was finished with school, he went ahead and did some clips to the video. He sent me one clip but did two different scenes of his part where he mouthing his words, one shot was regular, which was toward the camera and the other one was him facing towards the side.

I ended up shooting my two clips 3 days after he sent his to me. One of my shot was in my backyard and the other shot was with me on all red with the Kanye West shades on. Oh, there’s also a shot where I was drinking Pepsi, haha, had to do something crazy.

It took me an hour and 47 minutes to edit this video. It was worth it. That’s all I got for now. Lookout for my new mixtape “Regeneration: The Hip Hop Recovery” dropping June 20th!

Jorge Fuenez & K.K.O.F. Live Performance @ Redlight Cafe!

REGENERATION: The Hip Hop Recovery EP drops June 20th!

This video above is a footage of Jorge Fuenez featuring K.K.O.F. live show at The Redlight Cafe.

SHOW INSIGHT:

The last time I was booked to the Redlight Cafe was on March 20th along with Jorge Fuenez but we both performed solo. Now this past Sunday on May 29th, I didn’t get officially booked to perform but Jorge did. As for me, Jorge asked me to be his hype man, at first, I wasn’t sure if I was able to make it because I had some important stuff to do around the 29th to May 31st but I manage to make it there anyway, so I agreed to be his hype man because he really wanted me at his show, I thought was nice of him. Thanks Jorge.

Jorge’s last hype man was former STN artist Hard Knox, he pretty just stumbled and froze through the performance, I guess maybe it was his first time or something like that  but Jorge has a lot of stage experience, meaning that it’s not his first time being on stage. Hard Knox, take notes on being a hype man. This is my first being someone’s hype man and I did a great job.

The show itself didn’t have much people like it was the last time we were there but we put on a great performance. Technically, we was supposed to go on first but the host of the show Tino Panama decided he wanted Jorge to be in the middle of the list so more people can see him. I guess we was ok with that but on the previous show, Jorge was the first to perform but I told I was supposed to go on at 8pm but I ended up going on stage at 9:46pm, Smh, otherwise we had a good performance.

The song you us performing on the video above are “Humility” (off Jorge’s THE CONTRABAND MAN mixtape) and “Thrift Squad” (which is originally by myself, Jorge and the hook by Cash Browns – the song will be available on my next mixtape coming August 2011), the video  above I made above is a customized version but Jorge also performed 3 more songs as well, “Good Tyme”, “Gunna Shine” and a brand new song that nobody never heard except me and the people who was at the concert, off his next upcoming mixtape, supposed to drop in August!

You can see me and Jorge performing the 4 songs “Good Tyme”, “Humility (feat KKOF)”, “Gunna Shine” and “Thrift Squad” on the video above. The quality is kinda messed up on this footage.

Once again, shoutout to Jorge Fuenez for letting me be his hype man and shoutout to Snoopbear/CashBrowns and Jafart coming out, and to every else who came out to support Swagg Tyme Nation. On a bad side note: Afton don’t wanna book us again because they expect us to sell more tickets than what we sold the previous time. Last time, I had to pay my mom, sister, grandma, my dad (who didn’t end up going) tickets and my dad friends payed for a ticket but they didnt show up either and my aunt payed for one and she didnt come either, she did just to help me out but basically, I had to pay 4 tickets which was 10 dollars each myself. I tried to promote and get other people to get tickets to my show but they just ignore it and dont care gets me frustrated, and i’m not the only one who feels this way, so does Jorge but i’m not gonna vent about that issue on this blog.

So watch and enjoy our live performance footage and be on the lookout for Regeneration on June 20th!

Cutting Down My Bars & Verses

First off, Be on the lookout for my new EP “Regeneration: The Hip Hop Recovery” dropping June 20th!

Alright so, you may notice that most of the music you hear today has only 2 verses now. I use to do 3 16 bars verses but now, I figure it is now a waste of my writing time but what I have learned is these tips below:

  • If you are just starting to do Hip Hop music or a new rapper, people today don’t want to hear 3 verses with 8, 12 or 16 bars, the quality might be great but if you a good rapper, you don’t have to settle for Three 16 bar verses. People will know you have the rapping skill and I suggest you do your music with less verses and less bars.
  • Every idea you spit or write can be done in less than 3 verses and less bars.
  • The 3rd verse will not be good because writing ideas run out, when you feel like you struggling on the 3rd verse, that’s a sign telling you that you don’t need to write anymore for that track.
  • Check this out – If your track has 3 verses and you done two verses, you can have another artist placed on a 3rd empty verse. Simple.
  • Also, if the tempo of the track is sorta slower than 65 BPM, you totally don’t need 3 verses for the track. Those usually be long 5 minutes tracks that will make wanna hear something else or might bore you to death!
  •  I learned this -  some people wanna listen to short songs, however, if the song has 3 verses with 16 bars, they don’t wanna hear the rest of the no more so try to keep your song 3 or 4 minutes, keep it short and simple.
  • And last but not least, DJ’s, seriously important so please pay attention – DJ’s don’t really play songs past the 2nd verse of the song, I learn this from a friend who is a DJ, no matter how good the song is, unless it’s a big hit worldwide song but it’s not bad but DJ’s can do that if they like.

Most of you who listens to my new material may have notice that I shorten my verses and bars on my songs. I have now shorten my verses to two verses or sometimes one depending on the kinda song and shorten my bars to either 12 or 8. If i happen to have a 3rd verse on a song, it will be for a guest artist, which is good because sometimes, people wanna hear another artist vocals. Sometimes I do a song with two verses with 16 bars depending on the idea or subject of the song… but for me, I like to do two verses with 8 bars, because they make the song shorter and I won’t run out of writing ideas so that’s why i’m cutting down my bars and verses. No need for 3 long verses for a song for me, gotta keep it short and simple.

For example: “Sounds Like” (2 verses with 8 bars), check it out here, click on the following link: http://youtu.be/BYI_3FcS3EE
